Academic Advising

The CHS Student Success Hub has academic advisors to support students through every step of their college career. Advisors help students thrive at CHS by helping them stay on track academically and connecting them to ASU resources. They can help students with:

  • Course planning and mandatory advising.
  • Transfer coursework evaluation.
  • Long-term course planning.
  • Academic difficulties, including probation and disqualification.
  • Personal concerns.
  • Connecting students to a variety of ASU resources such as tutoring, pre-health advising, internships, clubs and organizations.

When Students Should Meet with an Advisor

Freshmen and new transfer students are required to meet with an academic advisor before first and second semesters, the advising hold is removed at freshmen orientation for the first semester. Advising holds are removed at freshmen orientation or at the transfer student's advising appointment. All students should meet with an advisor for the following:

  • When considering a major change to a program in our college.
  • When they have questions about their major or opportunities after graduation.
  • When placed on academic warning, academic probation or academic disqualification.
  • When facing major personal, familial or medical issues.
