Grant Consultation Services

The CHS Research Success Hub has funds available for grant consultation, editing, and graphic design services to assist CHS faculty with improving the quality of their grant submissions.

  • Faculty members are eligible for one award per year, not to exceed $2,000 in a fiscal year, to support the cost of these services. Each type of service and cost needed must be justified (content review, editing services, graphic assistance, proposal development, statistical consultation outside the Biostatistics Core, etc.).
  • Services will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis. However, priority will be given to Junior faculty if the funds are near depletion.
  • Requests should be for federal or large-scale submissions (>$250k/grant); internal grants qualify for this service.
  • A maximum of one award will be made per grant submission (may include a combination of services (i.e., graphics and editing) up to $2000, even if two faculty are collaborating on the same grant.
  • Translational Team support is available and limited to one large grant per fiscal year. Consultation services will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis until funds are depleted.
  • If working on a center grant, the team is eligible for additional funding.

Pre-approval is required.

Please complete the Grant Consultation Authorization Form and email it to for review. Failure to obtain approval will result in non-payment of the services by CHS Research Success and any incurred expenses will need to be supported by your IIA, RID or paid for out-of-pocket.

  • Please fill out and submit the form for review and pre-approval.
  • Funds are limited, so it is unlikely that all requests can be approved. It is important to request services as soon as possible. This will allow the Research Success Hub to allocate the funding as equitable as possible.

CHS List of Editors/Editing Services

The CHS Research Success Hub maintains a list of approved editors and editing services.

If you have someone specific in mind, confirm that they are already a vendor. If they are not, refer to these guidelines for them to become a vendor. There is a link contained within the document to the PowerForm Signer to automatically route the request to Post Award staff to register the vendor to do business with ASU.

  • CHS faculty cannot be paid as part of the CHS grant editor program. Providing mentoring and feedback is part of the service mission of the college.
  • If faculty are part of the Arizona Board of Regents (i.e. ASU, NAU or U of A staff or faculty), we need to obtain provost approval.
  • Note that external reviewers are the norm and a best practice, given that they can provide a more objective viewpoint.
  • The faculty member is responsible for ensuring the selection of a well-qualified person (consultant, editor, or graphic designer). The college or Research Success Hub is not responsible for the quality of the services.
