Onboarding Student Workers

Student Worker Tasks

Supervisor (or designee) Tasks

Submit a ticket

    • Request Type = Other
    • Room and building information if you have that available
    • Details
      • Text indicating a new student worker onboard
      • Student name and ASURITE id (e.g., John Doe - jdoe24)
      • Start date
      • Access to network drives (e.g., X:, Z:, etc.) along with specific folder access (e.g., Marketing folder)
      • [optional] If you know someone's network drive permissions that you would like this student modeled after, please indicate the person's name and ASURITE id (e.g., please model permissions after Jane Doe - janedoe45)
      • Access to printers (e.g., CHS-HS440-IR6565)
      • Any special software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.)
      • Add other services if needed (e.g., Dropbox, etc.)
  • CHS IT will communicate progress in the ticketing system and close the ticket when all tasks are complete

Onboarding Volunteers (and Temporary Staff)

Supervisor (or designee) Tasks

Step 1

Submit a ticket

  • Request Type = New affiliation
  • Applicant's first name = student's first name
  • Applicant's last name = student's last name
  • Applicant's Date of Birth = student's date of birth
  • Applicant's email address = students email address (usually asurite@asu.edu)
  • Select one of the following affiliation options = Department Sponsored Consultant (NCON)
  • Dean/Director ASURITE ID = Henry Barto (or other director... please don't select the Dean)

Step 2

Submit a ticket

  • Request Type = Add EDNA service to existing account
  • Applicant's Full Legal Name (Last, First, Middle) = student's last, first, middle name (middle name is optional)
  • Applicant's ASURITE ID = student's ASURITE id
  • Access Requested = ASURITE-NT Domain (ASURITE Windows Domain) and optional Exchange Email (*Outlook - requires ASURITE-NT Domain access)
  • Reason for Access = your reason for wanting this student to have this type of access (e.g., access to lab computers and printers in CHS, access to shared drive resources, etc.)
  • Supervisor or Sponsor of the Applicant for approval purposed = supervisor's name (you will receive an email asking for approval of the request)
  • Additional Details = this is required but usually you can copy from Reason for Access above and paste into this field
  • [Supervisor or Sponsor from above] must approve this form when prompted (via email)
  • After receiving confirmation from computer accounts that the access has been granted, please fill out a CHS IT Consulting ticket
  • Request Type = Other
  • Room and building information if you have that available
  • Details
    • Text indicating a new volunteer onboard
    • Name and ASURITE id (e.g., John Doe - jdoe24)
    • Start date
    • Access to network drives (e.g., X:, Z:, etc.) along with specific folder access (e.g., Marketing folder)
    • [optional] If you know someone's network drive permissions that you would like this student modeled after, please indicate the person's name and ASURITE id (e.g., please model permissions after Jane Doe - janedoe45)
    • Access to printers (e.g., CHS-HS440-IR6565)

  • You will also need to fill out liability information for the volunteer here: https://cfo.asu.edu/volunteer-insurance-services

Volunteer Tasks

  • Go to http://asu.edu/changepassword and change your password after all of the above is completed. This should be a prompt from your supervisor.
